E. Before Your First Fire
1. First, make sure your appliance has been properly
installed and that all safety requirements have been met.
Payparticularattentiontothefireprotectionandventing.
2. Doublecheckthatthefireboxisemptyandthefirepot
floorisfullyclosed.
3. Close and latch the door.
F. Filling the Hopper
Openthehopperlidbyliftingthehandle.Fillthehopper
withfuel.Closethehopperlid.Theunitwillnotfeedwith
thehopperlidopenandthefirewillgoout.
NOTE: FOR USE WITH ONLY WOOD PELLET FUEL
G. User Dial Control
Theappliancehasonedialcontrollocatedonthesideof
the unit (behind a drop door) used for changing the heat
settingandrestartingtheappliance.Therearefiveheat
settingsonthisdialrangingtoinclude:LOW,MED-LOW,
MED, MED-HIGH, and HIGH.

H. Normal Startup Sequence
Theunitwillgointotheignitionsequencefollowedbya
startupsequence(thegreenLEDwillflashrapidly).
Theignitionsequenceinvolvestheexhaustblowerand
igniter turning on, and the feed motor running in two stages.
Thefirststageinvolvesthefeedmotorrunningcontinuously
foraboutaminutetopreloadpelletsintothefirepot.Inthe
second stage, the feed motor will begin cycling on and off.
When the pellets are warming - on the verge of igniting - it
isnotuncommonforthefireboxtofillwithsmoke.
Onceignitionhappens,thesmokeshouldquicklydisap-
pear. During this stage, as well as any part during the burn
process, the front door should not be opened.
Thisstartupcyclecontinuesuntiltheunitsensesignitionby
a rise in the exhaust temperature or the unit times out. Fol-
lowing the ignition cycle the unit continues to feed pellets to
buildupthefire.
After warming up, the convection blower will begin to blow
warm air into the room. As the appliance increases heat
the blower will increase its output.
I. Firepot Purge
Purpose:Tohelpremovedebrisfromthefirepotandhelp
theunitburnasefficientaspossible.
Thefrequencyofthepurgecycleisonceevery50minutes
whiletheunitisburning.Duringthefirepotpurge,thefeed
is reduced to the lowest setting and the exhaust blower
rampsuptoaveryhighsetting.Thepurgecyclelasts99
seconds.
The purge cycle does not replace daily cleaning.
J. Shutdown
Toshuttheappliancedown,turnthedialcontroltoOFF
orturnthethermostattoOFF.Duringtheshutdownpro-
cess,thelightwillflashgreenrapidlyjustliketheignition
sequence.
Unlikethefirepotpurge,duringshutdownexistingfuelin
thefirepotwillcontinuetoburnwithoutthefeedmotorrun-
ning; but, the exhaust and convection blowers will remain
on until the exhaust has cooled.
NOTE:Ifmaintenanceordailycleaningisgoingtobe
conducted immediately following a shutdown, please use
cautionascomponentsespeciallythoseinsidethefirebox
may still be hot.
Duetosafetyprecautions:
• IfthedialcontrolisturnedtoOFFandbackon(even
if by mistake) the unit will go through the shutdown
sequence before restarting.
• Additionally,iftheremotethermostatissetto“OFF”or
“THERMOFF”duringoperationtheappliancewillgo
through a shutdown sequence before restarting.
