Corrected Problems
in Release 3.0.0
This section describes the problems that were corrected for Multilayer
Switching Modules in software Releases 3.0.0 and 3.0.1.
System
■
Multilayer switching modules no longer return erroneous MBA
diagnostic failure messages. (29211)
Bridging
■
Spanning Tree Bridge Protocol Data Units (BPDUs) are no longer
dropped during high broadcast levels. (26230)
Virtual LANs (VLANs)
■
Previously, in some configurations, the system did not allow you to
define the proper number of VLANs, causing out-of-resource
messages. The system now allows correct VLAN definitions. (27137)
IP
■
Multilayer switching modules now advertise statically defined routes in
RIP updates. (27000)
■
User Datagram Protocol (UDP) Helper now works for ports 137
through 139 WINS packets. (27359 and 27929)
■
In rare instances, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) clients
were unable to get an IP address. This has been fixed. (25748)
QoS
■
The problems that caused Quality of Service (QoS) drop controls to fail
have been fixed. (26950)
Roving Analysis
■
The system forwards IEEE 802.1Q tagged frames properly to the
roving analysis monitor ports.
Web Console
■
The WebConsole now supports the new Administration Console
password
menu item in IP RIP. (25663)
Ethernet
■
Whenever a non-switch fabric module is reset (with the
module
nvData reset
command, by inserting the module into a chassis, by
doing a warm reset, by running service diagnostics, and so forth) or
whenever a backplane port is disabled and then reenabled, the links
to the switch fabric module no longer go down on some occasions
and are now always reestablished. (30063)
