NOTE
Label all wires before disconnecting to ensure correct
installation.

Disconnect wire connectors (1).
6.
Remove cable ties securing the AC traction wire
harness to the frame.

traction motor assembly before removing.
• Label all wires before disconnecting to ensure correct
installation.
7.
Disconnect the brake coil wire connector (2), traction
pedal position sensor wire connector (3), and the AC
traction motor wire connectors (4).
8.
Support the AC traction motor assembly (8) using a
suitable lifting device.
9.
Remove six screws (5), lock washers (6), and flat
washers (7).
10. Carefully lower the AC traction motor assembly.
Installation Notes
• Install AC traction motor assembly by reversing the
order of removal.
• Use new cable ties to secure the wire harnesses.
• Tighten screws (5) to 93 lb-in. (10.5 N·m).
• Tighten nuts at wire connectors (1) to 132 lb-in. (14.9
N·m).

Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2.
Remove traction pedal position sensor. (See
“Traction Pedal Position Sensor” on page 4-159.)
WARNING
IMPORTANT
It is important to lift and support the machine, or the
machine will move.
3.
Lift the machine so that front wheels are off the
ground and support with appropriate jackstands.

Be sure that the key switch is off, all electrical
accessories are turned off, and the 12-volt and
48-volt power connectors are disconnected
before starting work on machine.
• Prevent personal injury. Use properly rated
lifting devices. Always be sure load is
balanced before lifting.
• Support the machine properly using
jackstands.
