Status Page Problems
If you choose an advanced status page but only a standard status
page prints, the printer has run out of RAM.
n
Decrease the number of fonts you’re downloading, or when
downloading a large number of fonts, packet them in smaller
groups (for example, download only four fonts at a time instead of
eight).
n
Remove some of the downloaded fonts from the print system,
using PS Executive or QMS Document Option Commands
(DOC).
n
Reallocate memory among the memory clients (see chapter 5,
“Additional Technical Information,” in the
Reference
).
n
Add more memory to the printer (see chapter 6, “Printer Options,”
in the
Reference
).
Printer Reset Problems
If the printer resets, check the following:
n
Occasionally, Macintosh applications interfere with each other.
Applications send a printer prep file to the printer at the beginning
of each document. Other prep files can’t be sent without resetting
the printer. Monitor your activities to see if there is a correlation
between your use of a certain driver version and the printer reset-
ting. If so, contact the developer.
n
Downloading too many typefaces can overload the printer's mem-
ory (RAM) and cause the printer to reset to default. Additional
memory is available. Contact your QMS vendor for information on
RAM upgrades. See chapter 6, “Printer Options,” in the
Refer-
ence
.
n
If the printer resets in other circumstances, call your QMS vendor
for service.
