> What happens if my DVR loses power temporarily?
Everything you have recorded is saved, based on the save time you selected in the Confirm
Recording screen. Your scheduled recordings during the time the DVR lost power are the only
recordings you may miss.
> Do my Parental Controls in the Program Guide carry over to DVR recordings?
Yes. Blocked programs cannot be viewed live or recorded without entering the correct PIN.
For example, if all R-rated programs are blocked an R-rated program can still be recorded,
but you cannot play it back until you enter the correct PIN.
> How do I block or erase individual recordings in my recorded list or change the save time
for the recording?
Highlight the recording on the Recorded Programs List screen, and press SELECT on the remote
control. An Options screen appears for the program you selected.
> Why are all my programs displayed in 1080i format?
You may have selected the Easy Setup mode and the Widescreen TV setting (16:9) in the HDTV
Setup Wizard. Choosing these two settings together limits your programming to 1080i format,
even on non-HD channels. To see your non-HD programs in 480i on a widescreen HDTV (16:9),
use the Advanced Setup in the HDTV Setup Wizard. Make sure that you select 480i as one of
your saved formats, and then select Pass-Through in General Settings: Picture Format as your
default picture format.
> Why are some programs on the HD channels broadcast in HD while others are not?
The TV networks from which we receive our programming determine which content is delivered to
us in HD format. Some networks deliver HD content 24 hours a day, while other networks choose to
only broadcast HD content during primetime viewing hours. Rest assured, if we receive a network’s
content in HD, we will always present it in HD. One method of determining if a particular program
is being broadcast in HD from the network is to look for a small yellow and black “HD” icon in the
program’s guide information (accessed by pressing the “Info” button on your STB remote).
