and change video
parameters. The following items appear under the Video tab:
Auto Detect –
The IBM decoder hardware uses two different loads of microcode
depending on the application. One strictly plays 4:2:2 chroma format streams and
is optimized for high bit rate streams (>25Mbps). The other plays 4:2:0 or 4:2:2
chroma format. Normally the firmware selects the appropriate MPEG microcode,
but the host can override.
External Genlock –
Enables the decoder to synchronize to the genlock input
source. Each decoder channel's genlock source to come from one of three possible
sources. This gives the ability to lock 1,2, or 4 channels together to a genlock
source. The source can be set to the decoder's own genlock input (default), Channel
1 (LUN 0) genlock input, or Adjacent Channel genlock input (0 & 1 — 2 & 3).
Default Resolution –
Selects NTSC or PAL video standard as output video.
Normally, the decoder automatically parses the MPEG stream at start-up to
determines the resolution.
Idle Output Color –
Whenever the decoder is idle (i.e. playback not active) the
decoder outputs black. This allows the selection of the output color. The default is
black, and can be optional set to blue or any other color specified by the user.
