Decoder Installation
Decoder Installation/Removal (Hot Swap)
Power Down Sequence
1. Set the Hot Swap switch to the up position.
2. Verify that the Hot Swap indicator on the front panel is illuminated, then
remove the SCSI cable from the decoder.
3. Power-down the unit by depressing the power switch.
4. Disconnect the AC power cable from the voltage supply and the rear of the
unit if removing unit.
5. Remove the audio, video, and SCSI cables if removing unit.
6. Remove unit from rack, if desired.
Power Up Sequence
1. Mount new unit in rack.
2. Connect the audio and video cables.
3. Set the SCSI ID switch to the correct ID. Set the SCSI terminator switch to the
down position to disable the internal SCSI terminators.
4. Set the Hot Swap switch to the up position.
5. Assure that the AC power switch on the front panel is off, then connect the
AC power cable from the receptacle on the rear of the unit to a suitable AC
outlet. Note that if a customer-supplied power cable is used, it must be equal to
or exceed 18 AWG, 1250W, 10A-125V.
6. Power-up the unit by depressing the power switch.
7. Verify that the Hot Swap indicator on the front panel is illuminated, then
connect the SCSI cable.
8. Set the Hot Swap switch to the down position.
The four LUN play indicators and the power indicator on the front panel should
begin blinking and the Hot Swap indicator should go out after a few seconds.
Jumper Information
Hardware jumpers are located on the Quad Pro circuit board for ease in config-
uring power supplies, SMU options, genlock, etc. The following list of jumpers
is current as of the Rev B board. Functions marked with an asterisk are default
settings. See Figure 1-20 for jumper locations on the Quad Pro circuit board.
