Track Map
A Track Map is a plot of the latitude and longitude data of a circuit combined with a
vehicle position indicator.
There are two main components of a Track Map, the position indicator and the circuit
file. These components have editable properties which allow the user to customise the
appearance of existing Track Maps or create entirely new ones. These are accessed
through the Element properties window and are as follows:
Track Map Creation
1: Starting a New Track Map
From the Menu bar select ‘Elements’ ‘New’, this produces a dropdown menu
listing the different types of Element it is possible to add to the Scene e.g. Gauge,
Image, Picture-In-Picture etc.
Selecting ‘Track Map’ will add a blank scratchpad to the Main View Window. The Element
Properties window will now reflect the properties of the Track Map Element just created.
2: Loading in a Circuit File
To display a track in the track map window a circuit overlay file needs to be loaded. The circuit overlay file contains
the latitude and longitude data of a track and when used with a position indicator, will show the live position of the
vehicle.
Circuit maps of many of the popular tracks are available for download from the Racelogic Driftbox website as a .cir
format file.

. Also see the Circuit Overlay section for how to create your own
Track Maps.
To load in a circuit file click the Load button in the Track Map properties
window, this will bring up a file browser dialogue which will enable the
user to navigate to the directory containing the background file.
3: Selecting the Colour of the Track and Border
The colour button next to the Load button determines the colour of the track. Clicking on this button brings up a
colour palette allows the user to choose the displayed track colour.
The user can choose whether the track map has a border by selecting or deselecting the ‘Visible’ check box, if a border
is included the user can also select the width and colour of the track border.
4: Resizing the Track Map
By clicking on the track map a drag-box will appear in the bottom right corner of the window, this allows the track
map to be resized.
