MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
With vehicle on a level surface and en-
gine cold, not running, check the oil lev-
el as follows:
1. Unscrew dipstick then remove it
and wipe clean.
2. Reinstall dipstick, screw in it com-
pletely.
3. Remove and check oil level. It
should be near or equal to the up-
per mark.

To add oil, remove dipstick. Place a
funnel into the dipstick tube to avoid
spillage.
Add a small amount of recommended
oil and recheck oil level.
Repeat the above procedures until
oil level reaches the dipstick's upper
mark.
Do not overfill.
Properly tighten dipstick.
Recommended Engine Oil
Use 4-stroke SAE 5W30 engine oil that
meets or exceeds the requirements
for API service classification SM, SL or
SJ. Always check the API service label
certification on the oil container it must
contain at least one of the above stan-
dards.
During the hottest days of the sum-
mer the BRP XP-S™ 10W40 mineral oil
(P/N 219 700 346) can be used.
NOTE:
For improved overall perfor-
mance and all season applications, use
XP-S 5W40 synthetic oil (P/N 293 600
039).
