1. Drive chain
2. Adjuster lock
3. Sprocket hub
4. Chain tensioner
Adjust chain deflection by slowly mov-
ing the vehicle forward or backward.
The deflection on the top of the chain
should be between 15 and 25 mm (5/8
and 1 in).
V06H06Y
Tighten the chain tensioner lock bolts
to 62 N•m (46 lbf•ft) and caliper sup-
port bolt to 12 N•m (106 lbf•in).
NOTICE
Never operate this vehi-
cle with the drive chain too loose or
too tight as severe damage to the
drive components can occur.
When the adjustment is done, repeat
the above procedure to check the de-
flection several times at different spots
on the chain.
Sprocket and Pinion
Check the sprocket axle and pinion
for distortion, excessive wear or other
damages.

2. Replace
NOTICE
Replace chain, sprocket
axle and pinion together to prevent
rapid chain and sprocket wear. In-
stall a new retaining ring each time
the pinion is removed.
Wheels
Occasionally, wheel nuts should be
removed to apply anti-seize lubricant
on studs to ease future removal. This
is particularly important when vehicle
is used in salt-water environment or
in mud. Remove one nut at a time,
lubricate then retorque to 50 N•m
(37 lbf•ft).
Wheel Bearing/Bushings
Push and pull the wheels from the up-
per edge to feel the play. See an autho-
rized Can-Am dealer if there is any play.
