Adjust the headlight
beam position of the every
time you change the load
to be carried.
Use the electrical adjusting device A
(fig. 175):
Position 0 - one or two people on
front seats.
Risk of malfunctioning is improbable
since Xeno lamps have a very long life.
IMPORTANT The bulbs of (Xeno)
gas-discharge headlights must be re-
placed by a Lancia Dealership.
ADJUSTING THE HEADLIGHT
BEAM (excluding versions with
gas-discharge headlights)
The correct positioning of the head-
light beams is very important for the
comfort and safety, not only of the
person driving the car but also all
other road users.
This is also covered by a specific
law.
To ensure you and other drivers
have the best visibility conditions
when travelling with the headlights
on, the headlights must be set prop-
erly.
Have the headlight position checked
- and adjusted, if required - at a Lan-
cia Dealership.
SLANT COMPENSATION
(excluding versions with gas-
discharge headlights)
A loaded car slopes backwards. This
means that the headlight beam rises.
In this case, a compensation is re-
quired.
Improved side zone lighting im-
proves significantly driving safety
since.
It enables the driver to better iden-
tify the presence of other users on the
roadside (pedestrians, cyclists, mo-
torcyclists).
Electric arc striking requires high
voltage, but powering needs then a
lower voltage.
These headlights reach their max.
brilliancy after approx. 0.5 seconds
from activation.
High brilliancy produced by this
type of headlights requires the adop-
tion of an automatic system to keep
constant the beam adjustment in or-
der to prevent glaring the other dri-
vers in case of braking, acceleration
or load transport.
The electromechanical system
adopted to keep constant the beam
adjustment makes the slant compen-
sation device unnecessary.
