Mira Control Panel Communications with Mira Server
The Mira Control Panel communicates with the Mira Server main chassis via standard CAT-5 or CAT-6 Ethernet cables. The Mira control
panel also receives power over this same cable. In some early shipments of the Mira Instant Replay Server, power for the control panel is
injected by an external “brick-type” power supply, with the communicating Ethernet cable looping through the “injector” power supply.
In later shipments of the Mira Instant Replay Server, the power supply for the Mira control panel is built into the Mira server itself, and
power for the control panel is provided on the “Control Panel ETHERNET POE” RJ45 connector, which the Mira Control Panel plugs into.
Mira Control Panel Power & Booting
There is no “power switch” on the Mira Control Panel itself; simply plug the CAT-5 (or CAT-6) Ethernet cable with power (POE) into the
RJ45 receptacle on the rear side of the Mira Control Panel, and the computer inside will boot up. It takes about 10 to 15 seconds for the
Mira control panel to boot. During this boot time, all the buttons on the control panel will glow solidly with an amber color.
As soon as the control panel is booted, the top row of ten “softkey” buttons (located at the very top edge of the control panel, and
numbered from 1 through 10) will illuminate in an amber color, in a repeating “marching sequence” from left to right. This is your
indication the computer inside the Mira control panel is operating normally.
If the lamps in the softkey buttons are all OFF; or if the animated “marching sequence” of illumination is frozen (and is not animated),
then the control panel computer is not functioning properly.
Unplug and then re-plug the POE RJ45 cable into the control panel to reboot it.
If the control panel still does not boot properly, then please contact Abekas technical support:
