When using manager and monitor user levels, you
may get an error message when performing some of
the operations in the web interface. This is because
you are trying to perform an operation that the user
level is not permitted to do.
These user names and passwords are stored in the
switch and are the same ones that are used to access
the CLI, so if you change the passwords (which we
recommend) you need to remember the new
passwords so you can still access the web interface
and the CLI. If you forget your password while logged
out of the switch, refer to
When the correct user name and password have been
entered, the front page of the web interface may be
displayed, as shown in
. If this is the first
time that the switch has been accessed using the web
interface, the first page of the Getting Started pages
is displayed; refer to
You are now ready to manage the switch.
If you are unable the access the web interface, refer
to
“Solving Problems With the Web Interface”

While managing the switch, you can use your web
browser to look at other web pages or interfaces, and
then simply use the back button to re-access the web
interface. You do not need to re-enter your user
name and password when doing this.
