· Scan Document and Send with E-mail
Introduction
You can scan a document and send it as an e-mail at-
tachment (JPEG, TIFF or PDF file).
Setting up E-Mail
1. Insert the document.
2. Press
SCAN.
3. Select with
[SCAN TO MAIL.
4. Confirm with
OK.
5. Enter the recipient's email address or select a
saved entry.
6. Confirm with
OK.
7. Enter the address of the recipient that should re-
ceive a carbon copy (CC).
8. Confirm with
OK.
9. Enter the e-mail subject (max. 80 characters).
10. Confirm with
OK.
11. Using
[, select whether you want to scan the
document in greyscale or in colour.
12. Confirm with
OK.
13. Select the desired resolution using
f:
DRAFT(100)—Scanning with reduced resolu-
tion—for use on the Internet, for example
TEXT B&W (300)—Black and white scan with
high resolution for optical character recognition
of text documents (OCR)
PHOTO(200)—Scanning with higher resolution
- for photographs, for example
HQ(300)—Scanning with highest resolution
14. Confirm with
OK.
15. Enter a name for the created file.
16. Confirm with
OK.
17. Using
[, select whether you would like to save
the file as an image file or as a PDF file.
18. Confirm with
OK.
19. The document is scanned and the e-mail is
stored. It will be sent at the next connection to
the local network. After the transmission, the de-
vice prints out a transmission report depending
on the settings.

Server

Network Connection Required
Introduction
With this function, you can scan documents and send
them as JPEG, TIFF or PDF files to a File Transfer Pro-
tocol Server (FTP)—to archive them, for example. You
require a user/login name and password for the serv-
er. The device logs on to the FTP server and transfers
the created file.
1. Insert the document.
2. Press
SCAN.
3. Select with
[SCAN TO FTP.
4. Confirm with
OK.
5. Enter the address of the FTP server or select a
saved entry.
6. Confirm with
OK.
7. Enter your user/login name.
8. Confirm with
OK.
9. Enter the password.
10. Confirm with
OK.
11. Using
[, select whether you want to scan the
document in greyscale or in colour.
12. Confirm with
OK.
13. Select the desired resolution using
f:

Setting up E-Mail
E-mail messages can only be sent when your
device is connected to a network with inter-
net access. Apart from that, you need to set
up your device for sending e-mails (see also
chapter
Setting up E-Mail
, page 64).
Access Function
You can also call up the function by press-
ing
OK, 33 and OK or pressing OK,
61 and OK.
Enter E-Mail Addresses
To enter the @ sign, press the
ü and
½. E-Mail addresses must not contain a
space!
Select the File Format
For an image file, you can select whether
you would like to save the file in TIFF or
JPEG format (see also chapter
Select the
File Format
, page 64).
Network Connection Required
The created files are transferred when your
device is connected to a network.
Access Function
You can also call the function by pressing
OK, 34 and OK.
