Defining Alert Logging (Notification Policy)
Introduction
Use the Notification policy to configure the following for the Enterprise Scanner agent:
Advanced
Parameters
Advanced Parameters can help diagnose, correct, or improve performance issues you
might experience with your network or environment. If you have contacted Technical
Support to help with a problem, you might be asked to perform tasks on the Advanced
Parameters tab. Rely on Technical Support to assist you when you use Advanced
Parameters.
Important:
Do not attempt to edit the default values in Advanced Parameters unless you
are working with IBM ISS Technical Support personnel.
Procedure
To enable alert logging:
1. In the SiteProtector Console, set up a tab to display agent policies. (See page 74.)
2. On the navigation pane, open the Notification policy for the agent.
Note:
The policy may be defined for only the agent, or it may be defined for a group
at a higher level than the agent.
3. Select the Event Notification tab.
4. Select the check box for each type of event to enable:

Alert Logging for System Error Events
■
Alert Logging for System Warning Events
■
Alert Logging for System Informative Events
5. Select the Enable Event Delivery to SiteProtector Console check box for each type of
event to enable.

Enables sending system events to the SiteProtector console (alert
logging) for the following types of system events:

warning
•
error
•
informative
Advanced Parameters
Allows you to fine-tune Enterprise Scanner options with advanced
parameters
.
