perspective—A user-defined network location from which agents scan assets on a network. The hosts, services,
and vulnerabilities discovered for a range of IP addresses vary based on the agent’s perspective.
Proventia Manager—A Web-based management interface.
Proventia Setup Assistant (psa)—A text-only Web interface for initial configuration of the Enterprise Scanner
appliance.
proxy server address—The IP address of the proxy server.
proxy server port—The port number of the proxy server.

root password—The password used to log on to the operationg system of the appliance.

Scan Control policy—The scan control policy is used to enable either a discovery or assessment scan.
Scan Exclusion policy—The scan exclusion policy defines the list of ports against which no assessment checks
should be run and the list of IP addresses for which hosts that should not be scanned.
scan progress—The number of scan jobs currently in progress.
Scan Window policy—The scan window policy defines the times of the day during which discovery and
assessment scanning are allowed against the assets in a group.
scanning—A term that encompasses both discovery and assessment scanning.
scanning interface—The interface that communicates with assets and services being scanned.
scheduler log—The log for the Enterprise Scanner task scheduler.
settings review—A list of all configuration settings.
SiteProtector—A centralized management system that provides command, control, and monitoring capabilities
over all IBM ISS products, including the Enterprise Scanner appliance.
SiteProtector Console—The interface where you perform all SiteProtector-related tasks.
SiteProtector Database—The SiteProtector Database that stores security data generated by IBM ISS products.
source IP—The source IP address for an alert sent to the SiteProtector Console.
subtask—A subcomponent of the job that defines and manages a portion of the total scanning work.
