Types of Alerts and Logs
Introduction
To view logs and alerts, you must log on to the Proventia Manager for your agent. From
there, you can select the logs and notifications you want to see from the navigation pane.
Two types of
information
System and ES log files provide two types of information:
Alerts and logs in
the Proventia
Manager
The following figure shows the alert and log selections available on the navigation pane of
the Proventia Manager:

Selecting alerts and
logs
Alerts and logs provide details about the scanning processes controlled by the agent or the
operational processes running on the appliance. Use the Logs menu in the Proventia
Manager to select alerts and logs to view as follows:
Type of Information
Description
Alerts (notifications)
Informational messages sent from an agent; triggered when an event
meets set criteria.
Logs
Traces the execution logic of the agent.
