XPU Configuration Settings
Introduction
You configure XPU settings in the Update Settings policy in the SiteProtector Console or
in the Proventia Manager.
Note:
The manual XPU options are available only in the Proventia Manager.
XPU settings
You configure general XPU settings and you schedule updates in the Update Settings
policy and in the Automatic Update Settings page of the Proventia Manager. The
following table describes the configuration tabs:
Advanced
parameters
Advanced parameters can help diagnose, correct, or improve performance issues you
might be experiencing with your network or environment. If you have contacted
Technical Support to help with a problem, you might be asked to perform tasks on the
Advanced Parameters tab. Rely on Technical Support to assist you when you are using
advanced parameters.
Important:
Do not attempt to edit the default values in the Advanced Parameters tab (or
page, in Proventia Manager) unless you are working with IBM ISS Technical Support
personnel.

Update Settings

a. This policy applies to asset groups and to agents.

Alternate Update Server
a local X-Press Update Server to use for updates (instead of the
default IBM ISS Download Center).
Proxy Server
a proxy server if your agent uses one to get to the Update Server.
Event Notification

notifications to the SiteProtector Console and the Proventia
Manager for available updates, update installations, and related
errors.

advanced tuning parameters for updates.
