Downloading ES Log Files
Introduction
This topic describes how to download an ES log file from the agent to a local workstation.
Saved log files
When you download a log file, Enterprise Scanner first creates a backup file to download.
Enterprise Scanner saves the file with the standard name for the log file, but it appends
the current time and date stamp, as in the following example:
Crm.Trace.log.20060324141336.bak
This file remains on your agent after you download it. You should delete these backup
files when you no longer need them.
Downloading an ES
log file
To download an ES log file:
1. On the ES Logs page in Proventia Manager, click Manage Log Files.
The Log File Management page appears.
2. Select a file to download, and then click Download.
A message prompts, “Are you sure you want to download the file?”
3. Click OK.
4. Select Save, and then click OK.
5. Navigate to the folder where you want to save the file.
6. Type a file name, and then click Save.
Deleting log files
To delete log files:
1. On the Alert Event Log page in Proventia Manager, click View/Manage Log Files.
The Log File Management page appears.
2. Do one of the following:

Select a file to delete, and then click Delete.
■
Click Delete All.
A confirmation window appears.
3. Click OK.
The file or files are deleted.
