Backing Up Configuration Settings
Introduction
Use the settings backup option to create a settings snapshot file of your agent’s
configuration settings. A settings snapshot file contains the configuration settings,
including the logon account credentials and networking settings, of the agent.
Default settings
snapshot file name
The default settings snapshot file,
FactoryDefault.settings
, contains the original
agent settings.
When to create
You should create a settings snapshot file before you change your configuration settings.
Creating a settings
snapshot file
To create a settings snapshot file:
1. Log on to the Proventia Manager for your agent. (See page 200.)
Note:
Make sure that your appliance is not registered to SiteProtector.
2. On the navigation pane, select Backup and Recovery, and then select the Settings
Backup
tab.
3. Click Add.
4. In the Create settings snapshot file section, type a name for the settings snapshot file
in the Specify a file name box.
5. Click Create.
The new settings snapshot file appears in the Settings Backup table.
Downloading a
settings snapshot
file to a computer
To download a settings snapshot file to your local computer:
1. Log on to the Proventia Manager for your agent. (See page 200.)
2. On the navigation pane, select Backup and Recovery, and then select the Settings
Backup
tab.
3. In the Settings Backup table, select the settings snapshot file to download.
4. Click Download to copy the file to your local computer.
Uploading a
settings snapshot
file
To upload a settings snapshot file:
1. Log on to the Proventia Manager for the agent to update with the settings snapshot
file. (See page 200.)
2. On the navigation pane, select Backup and Recovery, and then select the Settings
Backup
tab.
3. Click Add.
4. Type the name of the settings snapshot file in the Snapshot file to Upload field, or
click Browse to select the file.
5. Click Upload.
The settings snapshot file appears in the Settings Backup table.
