Powering On the WIDE FORMAT
COPY SYSTEM
To power on the XEROX WIDE FORMAT COPY SYSTEMS, you first
must switch on the Scan System and wait for 30 seconds or check that a
“P” is displayed on the status LED in the back of the Scan System. Then
switch on the Printer, then the Controller.
Follow the instructions provided in this section for your system.
For all controllers except the YKE, YKE-N, and FRX controller, when the
WIDE FORMAT SCAN SYSTEM is present, the DDS parameter must be
set to Enabled in order to enable the COPY/SCAN functionality of the
scanner. Go to the Web Print Management Tool. Select Configuration >
Printer > Printer Setup > DDS Enabled. Be sure that the DDS Enabled
checkbox is selected. If the DDS Enabled checkbox is not selected, then
the COPY/SCAN functionality will be disabled.
The default for this parameter is disabled. You must ensure that it is set
to Enabled when powering on the XEROX WIDE FORMAT SCAN
SYSTEM for the first time. After setting the DDS parameter, wait 30
seconds, and then power the system off then on. Once you enable this
parameter, it will remain enabled (even following future software
upgrades).
For the XEROX WIDE FORMAT COPY SYSTEM 510 Series, you can
set this parameter from either the CONTROLLER CONFIGURATION
screen of the Printer Control Panel or on the Web Print Management
Tool. For the XEROX WIDE FORMAT COPY SYSTEM
6030/6050/6050A, 721P, and 6204, you can only set this parameter from
the Web Print Management Tool, (Configuration > Printer > Printer Setup
> DDS Enabled).
To switch on the Scan System, press the Power On/Off Switch on the
back of the Scan System to the On (I) position as shown below. Wait for
30 seconds or until a P is displayed on the status LED.
