4. If the location where this handheld is assigned has a check in the
Uses Default column, click
the button displaying the alphanumeric code under
Preferences in the Default customization
profile: area. Otherwise, click the button displaying the alphanumeric code in the Preferences
column for the specific location to which this handheld is assigned.
5. Once the
Preferences page is displayed, click on the ID Entry tab.
6. In the Positive Patient ID section at the bottom of the page, check
Action Not on List and select
the desired behavior when the entered patient ID is not found in the handheld’s patient list:
• Warn: The operator is warned that the patient ID is not found in the active patient list.
• Lock Out: The operator is locked out from patient testing using the given patient ID.
Note 6.1: If you do not want the handheld to take any action if the entered patient ID is not found
on the handheld’s patient list, leave the
Action Not on List option unchecked.
7. If Lock Out is chosen in step 6 above, check
Lock Out Override if you want operators to be able
to override the lockout by entering the patient ID number twice. If you do not want the override to
be activated, leave the option unchecked.
