Batch – This GPI action will instruct the system to execute a set of playback automation or system
commands stored in a batch file on the server. The ability to invoke automation commands from a batch
file and to assign a batch file to a specific GPI input channel are both new to this release.
Notes:
•
If the input stays closed for a long time, the batch file only executes once. If the input opens and
closes again, then the batch file executes again.
•
In addition to the new Script commands (e.g. Script Transport and Script Automation) any valid and
user appropriate QShell command (including the new script command) can be executed from the
batch file. Some QShell commands may not be available due to User level restrictions imposed when
Account Security is enabled.
GPI Input Batch File Execution Setup
There are two GPI Input settings required to configure the server to execute the commands contained within a
Batch (.bat) file:
1.
GPI Input channel action must be set to Batch.
Note: Other GPI Input actions may not be used to invoke batch file processing.
2.
A valid batch file must be associated with the corresponding GPI Input channel.
The Setup GPI inputs menu page can be used to set both the action (e.g. “batch”) and the associated batch (.bat)
file. If a valid batch file is not specified (in the second column), then no action will be taken.
In the above screenshot, the GPI Input action is assigned in the left column and the associated batch file is
assigned in the right column.
IMPORTANT! In order to retain GPI Input channel setting each time the server is powered on, these settings must
be saved to a Config file that is loaded at startup. See the Setup Cofig menu page for options.
To assign a batch file to a specific GPI input channel, move the selection cursor to the corresponding entry in the
second column and press center touchpad button. From the file browser, select the desired batch (.bat) file to be
used and click on the Select button.
