Virtual Tape length
The length should be set to be longer than the anticipated length of the project in the event changes to the
project duration are made during the editing process.
Virtual starting timecode
Virtual tape projects that will be used for Digital Cinema Package (DCP) mastering should have their
starting timecode set to 00:00:00:00.
Timecode used
Make sure this value is set to Virtual.

When all settings are correct, click the Create Virtual Tape with these settings button at the bottom of
the menu page.

Enter a brief project description into the VTP Comment window. Click Enter to complete the VTP creation
process.
A general comment might consist of the project title and notable project attributes.

FeatureTitle 2K Full JP2K
IMPORTANT! The “comment” entered in this field is used by QuStudio to provide additional information
about the DCP package when listing available content.

The virtual tape project file (.vtp) and project directory have now been created. The virtual tape is now
ready to be opened in the VTP Editor for project editing.
