Notes
Halftone pattern is defined by the size of the cells used in the
pattern. Cells are measured in pixels.
A 4x4 cell contains 16 pixels. Larger cells print a more coarsely
grained picture; however, larger cells allow a greater range of
grays or colors to be printed.
Enhanced cell patterns are optimized to produce greater
resolution. If your graphic prints with an unwanted pattern of
lines or an unwanted moiré pattern, try printing it again, using
the same cell size but without enhancement.
Purpose
Sets the gamma correction value of the printer.
Range
0.1344-6.5000
Default
1.2500
Notes
Often in scanned images grayscaling may be too light or too
dark to show details clearly. Using gamma correction on a
grayscale image is similar to using a graphic equalizer on a
home stereo; the range of gray levels can be adjusted for the
best possible image. This sharpens the overall midrange
contrast while blacks (shadows) and white (highlights) keep
their original values.
