Printer Sharing
2-61
Working with the Printer Drivers
6
If necessary, edit the Share Name Print Manager creates.
PCs running Windows NT see this printer name when connecting
to the printer. However, PCs running MS-DOS require a share
name that conforms to MS-DOS naming conventions (a name
with 8 or fewer characters, a period, and an optional extension
with 3 or fewer characters), in order to connect.
7
Type a description in the Location text box.
This description helps let people know where their documents will
be printed. They will see this location in the Connect to Printer
dialog box when they add the printer to their list of available
printers.
8
Choose the OK button.
Windows NT 4.0

Note:
This section explains how to configure the QMS 2060 WX
printer driver in Windows NT 4.0 for sharing. If you’re using Windows
95, refer to “Windows 95” on page 2-58. If you’re using Windows NT
3.51, refer to “Windows NT 3.51” on page 2-60. Printer sharing can
be used only with attached PCs that are running either Windows 95
or Windows NT 4.0.
If your Windows NT 4.0 printer driver was not configured for sharing
when originally installed, use the following instructions to add sharing:
1
From the Windows NT Start menu choose Settings. Then
choose Printers.
2
In the Printers window, select the QMS 2060 WX icon.
3
From the File menu, choose Properties.
4
From the Properties dialog box, choose the Sharing tab.
5
After the Sharing tab displays, select Shared.
6
In the Share Name edit box, type the name of the printer.
This is the name displayed when your PC is connected to the
printer.
