Printing
Envelopes
Your printer supports envelope printing from the multipurpose tray (up
to 10 envelopes).
Special Considerations
n
Before printing envelopes
-
Remember that you can print only on the address side of the
envelope.
-
Make sure that the media guides are set to the height of the
envelope (media jams or misfeeds may occur if they are too
loose or too tight).
n
We recommend that you use common office envelopes with diag-
onal joints, ordinary gummed flaps, and sharp folds and edges.
The following sizes are supported:
-
C5
-
Commercial 10
-
International DL
-
Monarch
n
Don’t use
-
Envelopes with flaps that are the full width of the envelope if
the flap is glued to something other than the mating surface.
-
Envelopes with transparent windows or peel-off strips.
-
Envelopes with fasteners or clasps.
-
Envelopes with edges that aren’t square and envelopes that
are wrinkled, torn, or curled.
-
Envelopes made of any material that melts, vaporizes, off-
sets, discolors, or emits dangerous fumes at high tempera-
tures (190° C/ 374° F).
n
Use landscape orientation to create the envelope text in your
application. Leave a 0.16" (4.06 mm) margin around the edges of
the envelope.
