Setup Flow for Fax Features
This section describes the minimum setup flow to configure this equipment for Fax features.
Setup Flow for Network-Fax
NOTE:
•
The fax transmission using the N/W-Fax driver is available only when optional Fax unit is
installed. The Internet Fax transmission using the N/W-Fax driver is available without
optional Fax unit.
Using the N/W-Fax driver, users can send a document to this equipment as a print job. The
equipment then sends the job to the fax numbers (or Email addresses) specified by the user
through the Public Switched Telephone Network or the Internet.
To send a fax through the Public Switched Telephone Network, users must configure the equip-
ment accordingly.
When sending an Internet Fax, the equipment sends the document to the SMTP server and trans-
fers it to the Internet. (A DNS server is required for the SMTP server to transmit the document
into the Internet.)
