The switch port commands in the Command Line Interface (CLI) are listed (along with the appropriate parameters) in the
following table.

config ports
Purpose
Used to configure the Switch’s Ethernet port settings.
Syntax
config ports [
| 100_full | 1000_half | 1000_full} | flow_control [enable | disable] |
learning [enable | disable] state [enable | disable] description

Description
This command allows for the configuration of the switch’s Ethernet ports.
Only the ports listed in the
Parameters
all
− Configure all ports on the switch.
− Specifies a port or range of ports to be configured. Tauto −
Enables auto-negotiation for the specified range of ports.
[10|100|1000]
− Configures the speed in Mbps for the specified range of
ports. Gigabit ports are statically set to 1000 and cannot be set to slower
speeds.
[half|full]
− Configures the specified range of ports as either full- or half-
duplex.
[master | slave] This parameter denotes whether the ports selected will be
of the master switch or the slave switch and is only used when the port
speed is selected to be 1000_full.
flow_control [enabled | disabled] – Enable or disable flow control for the
specified ports.
learning [enabled | disabled]
− Enables or disables the MAC address
learning on the specified range of ports.
state [enabled | disabled]
− Enables or disables the specified range of
ports.
description
characters to describe a selected port interface.
Restrictions Only administrator-level users can issue this command.
