The user-changeable Link Aggregation parameters are as follows:
Parameter
Description
Group ID
Select an ID number for the group, between 1 and 32.
State
Trunk groups can be toggled between Enabled and Disabled. This is used to turn a
port trunking group on or off. This is useful for diagnostics, to quickly isolate a
bandwidth intensive network device or to have an absolute backup aggregation group
that is not under automatic control.
Master Port
Choose the Master Port for the trunk group using the pull down menu.
Unit
Select the unit in the stack you want to configure.
Member Ports
Choose the members of a trunked group. Up to 8 ports per group can be assigned to a
group.
Flooding Port
A trunking group must designate one port to allow transmission of broadcasts and
unknown unicasts.
Active Port
Shows the port that is currently forwarding packets.
Type
This pull-down menu allows you to select between Static and LACP (Link Aggregation
Control Protocol). LACP allows for the automatic detection of links in a Port Trunking
Group.
After setting the previous parameters, click Apply to allow your changes to be implemented. Successfully created trunk
groups will be show in the Current Link Aggregation Group Entries as seen in Figure 6-8.
