Configuring IP Interfaces
An IP interface on the FRM allows the Internet Protocol to be executed over frame
relay, X.25, or LAN.
To display all IP interfaces configured on the node, press
[A]
at the Configure IP/
LLC2/BRIDGE/IPX Interfaces Menu (or
[A], [C], [E], [A]
from the Main Menu).
To configure an interface, press
[B]
at the Configure IP/LLC2/BRIDGE/IPX Inter-
faces Menu. When prompted, enter an interface number:
0–256
. (This is merely a
sequential number to identify the interface.)
It is a good idea to configure the LAN interface as interface
0
. This ensures
that the default IP address used for
Unnumbered Interfaces
(see page 13-
11) will always be the same.
The display depends on the interface; the following figure shows an example, and
Table 13-2
(on page 13-7) through
Table 13-4
(on page 13-9) list the parameters for
all interface types.
