Configuring a Network Trunk
A network trunk is a link between FRM/SmartSwitch 1800/FRX nodes, over X.25.
Other ports in the node can be assigned to a "trunk group," which will cause those
ports to be disabled if the network trunk is not operational (and enabled when the trunk
becomes operational). One network trunk in a node can be assigned to another
network trunk's group; however, disabling/enabling a network trunk will not affect
another network trunk in that trunk's group.

If
Network Trunk
is
N
, the rest of the above screen has no relevance.
You can add or delete one or more ports as described in menu entries B–E in Figure
8-3. To add or delete a range of sequentially numbered ports (e.g., RLP 1, port 3
through RLP 2, port 2) of the same port type, press
[D]
or
[E]
and enter (when
prompted) the port type, first RLP and port, and last RLP and port. The screen will be
re-displayed, with the
Y/N
status changed for each affected port.
Adding or deleting a range has no affect on any port types within that range
other than the type specified.
To add or delete a single port, multiple ports that are not in sequence, or multiple ports
of different types, press
[B]
or
[C]
and enter an RLP and port number. The screen will
be re-displayed, with the
Y/N
status changed for the port. Repeat this process for each
port you want to add or delete.
