After making any changes, be sure to press
[F7]
to update the
system memory. Otherwise, the changes will not take effect until
the next re-boot of the FRM.
Although the entries for the various passwords appear blank,
default values exist; if you change one, be sure you do not
duplicate an existing password.
Primary Output ID
and
Secondary Output ID
can be addresses, or serial/par-
allel ports. If a serial port is specified, no associated password (
Pwd
) entry
will be displayed for the ID. Instead, a group of operating parameters
(listed in
Table 4-1
) for the port will be displayed.
Warning Messages
One of the following messages will be displayed if there is a problem with the config-
uration for event (alarm) reporting.
Primary Alarm Reporting Error
appears at the top of all screens on a collecting node if the software that drives the
alarm output device is unable to output to the device.
Primary NOT Configured
appears at the bottom of both Node Defaults screens if a
Primary Alarm Output ID
is not
specified.
Primary/Secondary C/P"n" NOT installed
appears at the bottom of both Node Defaults screens if a serial (
C
) or parallel (
P
) port
is specified for the
Primary/Secondary Alarm Output ID
, but the card containing the port
is either incorrectly configured or is not installed. For a serial port, this message will
also be displayed if the card is properly installed but the device at the other end is not.
Primary/Secondary Printer/Connection Problem
appears at the bottom of both screens if a parallel (
P
) port is specified and the card con-
taining the port is installed but the device at the other end is not. Note that this will not
be determined by the software until the first alarm is sent to the parallel port.
Primary/Secondary C/P"n" NOT Initialized
appears at the bottom of all both screens if a serial or parallel port is specified, but
either the software cannot find the specified port or it is in use for some other purpose.
