Monitoring LAN Traffic
Data for a LAN interface can be gathered by capturing current information and placing
it into a buffer. This data can then be displayed.
Configuring the Monitor
To configure the parameters used in a capture, press
[B]
at the Traffic Monitor Menu
(or
[C], [E], [B]
from the Main Menu). This will display a screen similar to the fol-
lowing:
Figure 19-8 LAN Capture Status and Control Menu
[C],[E],[B]
from Main Menu
Information in this Display:
●
Protocols
– shows whether or not each LAN protocol is loaded. (See
Chapter 5
.)
●
Recording
– will be
Active
or
Not Active
, depending on whether or not a capture
is currently occurring.
