Power Management
The parameters listed under the Power Management menu allow you to
modify when and how the workstation utilizes the power saving mode.
Note:
To change a parameter’s value, move the pointer to a parameter and
click the mouse button. An Options menu displays allowing you to
select one of the choices.
Advanced Power Management
-- For workstations using an operating
system that supports Advanced Power Management, this parameter enables
or disables the power management BIOS support. When set to Enabled, the
workstation enters power saving mode after a specific timeout value. If set
to Disabled (default), the power saving functionality is not used.
IDE Drive Power Down
-- This parameter allows IDE drives to be shut off
by the BIOS when the system enters power saving mode. Since IDE drives
are not supported, the default is Disabled.
VESA Video Power Down
-- This parameter allows the video BIOS to
perform power saving operations when the system enters power saving
mode. The default is Enabled.
Timeout Value
-- This parameter allows you to set the duration of
keyboard or mouse inactivity before the system enters power saving mode.
The default is five minutes.
Peripheral Setup
The Peripheral Setup menu has parameters that affect option boards, serial
ports, and parallel port functionality.
