Review networking information.
Review the networking information you recorded in Chapter 2, “Configuring
the System,” and be prepared to use it during installation.

Start Windows NT Setup.
Start Windows NT Setup on the system, as described in the Windows NT
Workstation Installation Guide.
The Windows NT delivery media contain software and drivers for both
Reduced Instruction Set Computing (RISC)- and Intel-based systems. When
installing Windows NT distribution files, make sure to install them from the
\I386 directory (the Intel software directory) on the delivery media. For
example, if you are installing a device driver from the Windows NT CD-
ROM, key in the following when asked for the path to the file, where drive is
the drive letter for the CD-ROM drive:
drive:\i386

Select Express Setup.
Express Setup automatically detects the Adaptec SCSI driver for all systems,
and the MPS 1.1 Multiprocessor for all dual-processor systems.
If you select Custom Setup on certain Intergraph systems, Setup does not
detect the MPS 1.1 Multiprocessor, and you must manually select MPS 1.1
Multiprocessor during the installation. If you select Custom Setup, make
sure to change the
Computer:Standard PC
option to
MPS 1.1
Multiprocessor
on the Hardware and Software Components menu, which
displays after Setup detects the SCSI adapter.

Select New installation.
When prompted by Setup, select New installation, and do the following
when prompted:

Select the appropriate file system type and partition.
♦
Select the destination path for Windows NT Workstation.
