Chapter 7 - Troubleshooting 101
Sound Errors
ERROR - Sound cannot be heard.
Reason
Solution
The external speakers are powered
off.
Power on the speakers.
Volume control on speakers or
keyboard is too low.
Adjust the volume higher.
Speaker cables are not properly
connected.
Verify the cables are properly
connected.
The Volume Control application
has the volume off.
Run the Volume Control
application and adjust the master
volume up.
Headphones are plugged in to the
keyboard.
Unplug the headphones.
Video Errors
ERROR - System powered on, but screen remains blank.
Reason
Solution
Monitor not powered on.
Turn power on to monitor.
Monitor power cord not
connected.
Connect the monitor power cord
to AC outlet and monitor.
Video cable not properly installed.
Ensure the video cable is installed
in monitor and base unit. See
Chapter 1, “Getting Started,” for
details.
G95 graphics board disconnected
from riser card socket.
Open the base unit and reseat G95
graphics board.
