Concurrent Sessions
SNMP is session-less and supports multiple simultaneous manager operations.
To configure the SNMP v2 agent:
1. Check (or uncheck) the Enable checkbox to enable/disable SNMP v2 support.
2. GET community (RO): Community strings for GET commands.
3. SET community (RW): Community strings for SET commands.
4. Click Apply.
Note: The default for SNMP support is Enabled. When Server Technology products are shipped, the
default SNMP configuration for the GET community string is set to “public” and the SET community
string is left blank.
To configure the SNMP v3 agent:
1. Check (or uncheck) the Enable checkbox to enable/disable SNMP v3 support.
2. Engine ID: Unique system-assigned ID for each PRO2 unit that cannot be user-edited.
3. For the Read/Write or Read-Only Username: Provide a username between 1-31 characters.
4. For the Read/Write or Ready-Only User Auth Method: From drop-down menu, select the MD5
Authentication Only or MD5 Authentication & DES Privacy option, or accept the default None.
5. For the Read/Write or Read-Only User Auth Password: Provide a value between 1-39 characters. To clear
the password, check Change checkbox.
6. For the Read/Write or Read-Only User Privacy Password: Provide a value between 1-31 characters. To
clear the password, check Change checkbox.
7. Click Apply.
To configure the SNMP trap:
1. Format: Configures the SNMP trap format version. The trap format can be SNMP v1, v2c, or v3. The
default is v1, regardless of the versions that are enabled for the agent.
2. v2 Community: SNMP trap community for PRO2.
3. v3 Username: (Optional). Provide a trap username to display on SNMP v3 activity logs to identify user
actions. The trap username can be 1-31 alphanumeric characters; spaces are allowed; the name is case
sensitive.
4. For Destination 1 and Destination 2: Provide first and second trap destinations as a hostname or IP
address.
5. IP Restrictions: From the drop-down menu, select None (default) or Trap Destinations Only. If Trap
Destinations Only is selected, SNMP Manager GET and SET requests are allowed only from the IP
address of the defined trap destinations.
6. Error Repeat Time: Sets the SNMP trap repeat time for an object in an event condition. Provide a time
value from 1 to 65535 (in seconds).
7. System Name/Location/Contact: (Optional) Type the system name, location, and contact string from 1-63
characters.
8. Click Apply.
