Network Address Translation (NAT)
21-3
If there is no static NAT policy and a default workstation is set, then unknown
incoming traffic will go to the default workstation. If the incoming NetMeeting call
is not intended for the default workstation, then it will not work.
The following example describes a scenario on how to set up an incoming
NetMeeting call correctly:
1) If the user kept the default NAT settings (the default is SuperNat) and if the local
workstation that initiated the tunnel is the one that is expecting a NetMeeting call
from the remote side, and also the one that is listed in the default static NAT
policy, then the incoming call from the remote side will get directed to the
intended workstation.
If any other local workstation initiated the tunnel, the incoming call from the
remote side will never be received by the intended workstation.
You can change the NAT option in the default NAT policy by entering the
following CLI commands:
OCG-Adsl>>
set tunnel
name
> protocol ip workstation
intended local workstation address
>
OCG-Adsl>>
set tunnel
name
> protocol ip nat_option pat
To verify that the workstation intended to receive the call is set, enter the
following CLI command:
OCG-Adsl>>
show nat policy default_pptp:6_nat interface pptp:6
Configuring Network
Address Translation
(NAT)
When Network Address Translation is configured, static mappings and/or dynamic
pools of addresses must be configured. Static assignments permanently map a
private address to a public address. Dynamic pools consist of a start IP address, and
an end IP address. Multiple pools can be assigned and static assignments may exist
within a pools range.
