In order for the system to resolve the host name, you must either add the host name and address to the DNS Local Host Table, or define a DNS server. telnet address> TCP_port Establishes a Telnet client session with the specified IP host name or address using the specified TCP port number. It works just like the Telnet command, except you also specify the TCP port number to be used. The default TCP port number is 23 . The maximum is 65535 . Also see add user name > and set login user rlogin Establishes an Rlogin (Remote Login) client session with the specified IP host name or IP address. You must have run add DNS host or add DNS server for the system to recognize an IP host name. rlogin TCP_port Establishes an Rlogin client session with the specified IP host name or IP address using the specified TCP port number. The default rlogin TCP port number is 513. You must have run add DNS host or add DNS server for the system to recognize an IP host name. Without RIP on the internal network, you won’t learn of remote networks should the Ethernet interface be disabled. Other Telnet Related Commands This section describes other Telnet-related commands. add telnet client Adds a Telnet client to the Telnet client access list. The command enable telnet client_access enables the use of the Telnet client access list. If no netmask is specified, the host netmask value is assumed. An IP address of 0.0.0.0 allows universal entry to the OfficeConnect Gateway by Telnet users. See the delete telnet client command for more information. Also, issue the list telnet client command for a list of configured users. The default is Disabled . delete telnet client Removes a Telnet client from a table of users permitted to access the OfficeConnect Gateway. You may also disable Telnet access globally with the disable telnet client_access command. See the add telnet client command for more information. Also, issue the list telnet client command for a list of configured users. The default is disabled .
