SELECT APPROACH
‘SELECT APPROACH’ selects a published instrument approach for the destination airport or replaces the
current approach with a new selection.

Selecting an approach for a direct-to or flight plan destination airport:
1)
Display the Procedures Window by pressing the
PROC
Key.
2)
Highlight ‘SELECT APPROACH’.
3)
Press the
ENT
Key.
4)
Enter an identifier, city, or facility name.
5)
Press the
ENT
Key until the approach field is highlighted.
6)
Select the desired approach.
7)
Press the
ENT
Key. A window appears listing the available transitions for the approach.
8)
Select the desired transition or vectors.
9)
Press the
ENT
Key.
10)
With ‘LOAD?’ highlighted, press the
ENT
Key to load the approach OR: to activate the approach, highlight
‘ACTIVATE?’. If the approach is not approved for GPS, a ‘NOT APPROVED FOR GPS’ message is displayed with
‘YES’ highlighted. Press the
ENT
Key to acknowledge the message. To cancel the approach, select ‘NO’ and
press the ENT Key.
