Forth code. A type of boot code designed
for use on Sun’s SPARC or Macintosh
hardware platforms.
FCoE
Fibre Channel over Ethernet. A new
technology defined by the T11 standards
body that allows traditional Fibre Channel
storage networking traffic to travel over an
Ethernet link by encapsulating Fibre
Channel frames inside Layer 2 Ethernet
frames. For more information, visit

IP
Internet Protocol. A method by which data
are sent from one computer to another
over the Internet. IP specifies the format of
packets, also called datagrams, and the
addressing scheme.
iSNS
Internet simple name service. Allows
automated discovery, management, and
configuration of iSCSI and Fibre Channel
devices (using iFCP gateways) on a
TCP/IP network.
iSCSI
Internet small computer system interface.
Protocol that encapsulates data into IP
packets to send over Ethernet connec-
tions.
